Eden Joy Hardwick

Eden Joy Hardwick was born at 12:41pm on February 8th. She was 6lbs 10.5 ounces and was 19inches long. The delivery was awesome and Joli was unbelievable. God was so merciful as her labor was comparatively fast (4 hours) and Eden came out great even though she was only 35 weeks. We truly could feel the presence of God as He surrounded the whole process and the prayers of the saints on our behalf was truly humbling. Joli and I both said that we knew that those prayers availed much.

Since the birth, Joli has started to do much better and her liver enzymes are steadily going down. She is gaining her strength and appetite back and feels great even though she isn't sleeping that much. Eden has been struggling with jaundice and we have had to go back and forth daily to the lab to get her heel stuck and test her blood for bilirubin levels. She has been on a bili blanket for a few days and will be on one for the remainder of the weekend. Considering all things though, we are so thankful that God is working in us for His glory through this all. She is so beautiful and when the lethargy of the jaundice goes away, she is going to be a spitfire. She will need to be being the youngest of 9. :)

God is so good and we are thankful for our newest arrow. May He grant us the wisdom and grace to raise her to be a woman who loves Him with all of her heart!!

The First Post

Well I did it! Joli and I have been saying for a few years now that we needed to start our own blog. Well I guess it took a night where I couldn't go to sleep to start the whole process.

I guess the title may be a little perplexing but it comes out of Psalm 103:14 where it says "For He knows our frame, He remembers we are dust" A little strange you may think to name a blog but it has some meaning to me. Here goes:

There is so much in life that we put so much weight into, things that "Have" to get done and many things that we want to control. We put so much time, effort and worry into making sure things happen the way we want. So many times we become anxious because we feel we may lack control. It is exactly here that we need to stop and remember that God is bigger than any situation that we will ever face. Romans 8:38-39 says "For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor power, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" We worry about God hearing our prayers or meeting a specific need and forget that He is in control. He knows what we need, He knows our Frame!!

The second part of that verse, "He remembers we are dust" is important as it is following verse 13 that says that "As a father has compassion towards his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him" "For He knows our frame, He remembers we are dust". God has compassion on those who fear Him. Those who put their trust in Him. He knows our weaknesses and He knows our desires.

Always hope in God, for He knows our Frame! Nothing can seperate those who are His!
