Eden Joy Hardwick

Eden Joy Hardwick was born at 12:41pm on February 8th. She was 6lbs 10.5 ounces and was 19inches long. The delivery was awesome and Joli was unbelievable. God was so merciful as her labor was comparatively fast (4 hours) and Eden came out great even though she was only 35 weeks. We truly could feel the presence of God as He surrounded the whole process and the prayers of the saints on our behalf was truly humbling. Joli and I both said that we knew that those prayers availed much.

Since the birth, Joli has started to do much better and her liver enzymes are steadily going down. She is gaining her strength and appetite back and feels great even though she isn't sleeping that much. Eden has been struggling with jaundice and we have had to go back and forth daily to the lab to get her heel stuck and test her blood for bilirubin levels. She has been on a bili blanket for a few days and will be on one for the remainder of the weekend. Considering all things though, we are so thankful that God is working in us for His glory through this all. She is so beautiful and when the lethargy of the jaundice goes away, she is going to be a spitfire. She will need to be being the youngest of 9. :)

God is so good and we are thankful for our newest arrow. May He grant us the wisdom and grace to raise her to be a woman who loves Him with all of her heart!!

Baby Coming

Ok. We know. Our daily blog is now a monthly one. I saw that it has been one month exactly since we have posted anything. The last post was a Treasure update and since then she has done awesome. She doesn't snore anymore and breathes much better. But...

We are in the hospital again. This time Joli is in with complications in the pregnancy. She has cholestasis of pregnancy which causes the bile to back up into the blood stream. It makes her itch uncontrollably and very miserable. There is really no cure for it but to deliver as it is very dangerous for the baby and can cause still birth. It also can cause Joli's liver enzymes to go high. So, she has had high liver levels and they were worried about gall stones. Well the gall stones were ruled out and her gall bladder looked great. Next they were concerned that she had preeclampsia developing because her liver levels were high(ALT,AST), her platelet levels were low and she developed a terrible headache along with vomiting. She has been in the hospital since Friday and has been on IV fluids since then as well. The IV's have helped as her levels are stabilizing (not getting worse). The plan is to deliver tomorrow however because of all of the problems she has been having. She is only 35 weeks so they have been giving her steroid shots to help mature the baby's lungs.

Please pray for Joli's health and strength through these next few days. She is doing better this morning but is tired, especially of sitting in a hospital bed, and she has a delivery ahead of her. Please pray for the baby to come out breathing well and full of fight. Please pray that in everything that happens over the next few days that we will bring glory to our Creator.

Treasure Update

Hey all. Thanks so much for your prayers and messages concerning Treasure. She is doing well and is an amazing little lady. She sounds like she has 40 pounds of cotton stuck up her nose but she is doing great. She had a bit of a hard time this morning when she came out of the anasthesia, she was really upset. She cried for a while and complained about her throat hurting but she slowly got better as the day has progressed. Thanks again!!

Treasure

Please pray with us for Treasure tonight and especially in the morning. She will have her adenoids removed in the morning around 7:20. It is a quick procedure, normally about 20 minutes but the worst part is they have to put her to sleep and stick a tube down her throat for breathing. We know that God has her in His hand and we trust in His sovereignty. Please remember her tomorrow or tonight when you go to our Father.

Jas 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

Blessings,

Sean and Joli

Special Day by Dad

15 Years ago God gave me a special gift through my best friend on the right; the gift was my other best friend on the left.
Hunter Judson Lee Hardwick turned 15 years old today at 9:59AM. 15 years ago Joli delivered this very special young man at Grand Strand General Hospital. I was 23 at the time and Joli was 20 and I don't think either one of us really knew what our Creator was giving to us.
He was perfectly handsome, even with his very cone shaped head and forcep marks. He made his little mom go through the ringer. When she started with him she was 95 pounds and when he was born she was 150. She got bells palsy, choleostasis of pregnancy and had to go on bed rest for a while. Through all that though, she persevered to deliver a very special man.
Hunter is so very thoughtful and kind. Yes he can be mean some times but honestly it is not often. Hunter prayed to Jesus when he was about 6 years old to be his savior. He was baptized at Hyde Park Baptist Church shortly thereafter. While I am not sure whether he was saved at that point, I know that God has been changing this young man into someone who loves His Son Jesus. I pray that he would continue to yield his life to the Lord and be led willingly to where God wants to take him. I know God has a special purpose for his life.
Another thing that I am so thankful for and something that Joli has written, is that he actually likes to be with me. Maybe he does because I really like to be with him. One day he will be gone and I will miss him, until that day arrives though, I will cherish every day and every birthday that I have with him.
Thank you Lord for my son! Thank you Joli for giving me such a special young man and being an awesome mother to him! Thank you Hunter for being a treasured friend to me.
I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Year

New Year
Well we all woke up this morning. It felt the same as yesterday but someone told me it was a new year :0) Well I knew that it is 2010 and while it may not feel that different I am a day older and we are embarking as a family on a great task. We are going to be reading through the Robert Murry M'Cheyne bible reading program. My friend Brodie says that there are no "snow" days with this because it is rigorous and you don't get behind with the intentions to catch up. Today's reading was from Ezra 1 and Acts 1 in our quiet time and the family reading time is from Genesis 1 and Matthew 1. It progresses this way through the entire year where you read through the old testament once over the course of the year and the new testament and psalms twice. An additional thing that we are doing is we are going to follow Bethlehem Baptist Churches Fighter verses. They have 5 sets of fighter verses where they memorize a verse or passage every week as a church. This years set is E and they will memorize a verse out of Daniel this week and next week start memorizing the WHOLE sermon on the mount from Matthew 5-7. I do not write any of this to boast about what we are doing. Remember it is only January 1. I write this so that you will remember us in prayer as we commit as a family to read through the bible together this year and hide God's word in our heart. We hope that you have a happy new year and that your hearts would be shaped by the potter.

This is something I did last night but could not get to copy over to this blog. Have a great New Year and may the Lord fill you with His Spirit and His love.
